HIPAA-aligned patient onboarding and telehealth app for a US healthcare provider.
What we were brought in to solve
Lumen Health was running patient intake through a web form plus follow-up phone calls, with telehealth visits hosted on a third-party scheduling tool. Patients dropped off at every step. The provider wanted a single mobile app patients could trust — onboarding, scheduling, video visits, prescriptions and payments — with the compliance posture US healthcare demands.
How we built it
We delivered a cross-platform React Native app with native modules for HealthKit, biometric auth and secure document upload. A HIPAA-aligned backend on AWS handles PHI with field-level encryption, audit logging and per-environment access controls.
Telehealth visits run on a WebRTC layer with fallback to PSTN call-in. Stripe handles patient payments with surprise-billing protections. The onboarding flow uses progressive disclosure and offline persistence so patients on shaky connections never lose progress.
